PT DUMAS TANJUNG PERAK SHIPYARD was established in 1973, with main business providing repair service for various kind of vessel - such as general cargo, barge, roro, ferry, LCT, fishing vessel, tug-boat, pilot boat, patrol boat and dredger. To meet the growing demand for local need for sea transportation, PT Dumas has expanded the main activities and facilities.
In 1989 the company built a Graving Dock facility with a capacity of 8000 DWT, a 150 m quay, and acquire more machines and equipment to speed up and improve production. Since 2002, PT Dumas Tanjung Perak Shipyard has been expanding the international market by signing an contract with DAMEN Shipyard, Gorinchem the Netherlands to built Marine Disaster Prevention Vessel for the Department of Coast Guard, Directorate of Sea Transportation.
Currently PT. Dumas has a total of 27.600 sqm area for production, spread in two location. One location is at Jl. Nilam Barat 12 (9.950 sqm) and Jl. Nilam Barat 24-26 (17.650 sqm). PT. Dumas also expanded the operation by building a new production yard in Sampang, Madura with a total area of 25 hectares. The first stage will cover an area of 12 hectares which will become operational by 2011.
PT. Dumas build ships for international as well as domestic clients. PT. Dumas has worked and continues to provide repair services for the governments, to name a few TNI-AL, PT. Pertamina, PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia, PT. ASDP, as well as local private companies.
