PT. Dumas Tanjung Perak Shipyard, established in 1978, started with main business of providing repair services for all types of vessels: such as cargo vessels, barges, ferries, LCTs, fishing vessels, tug boats, pilot boats ,dredges, etc.
In 1980, Dumas started the production of shipbuilding. Several cargo barges for the Indonesian Department of Communication were built, then continued with other types of vessels such as Ferries, Tug boats, Tankers, and Container Vessels.
In order to meet the demand for ship repair, Dumas expanded it's facilities with a 8000 DWT graving dock completed with all it's supporting equipment in 1991.
PT. Dumas Tanjung Perak Shipyard has an open sea connection, and is located in the northern part of Surabaya, close to the port area and container terminal.
